From the initial point of site selection, thru the Design Process to the operational cost of Developments, Meehan Associates are conscious of the very important issues relating to environmental considerations.
We believe that buildings should be sustainable and adaptable. We endeavour to minimise CO2 and CFC Emissions. We have a particular interest in the specification of materials to ensure their positive contribution to the project. We select renewable options where possible. We plan on building to optimise energy and lighting. Our primary concern is the environment that the building occupants enjoy in use.
Meehan Associates have taken the Green Agenda seriously. We are the first US GBC registered Architectural Practice in Ireland. We act as LEED AP to project work to deliver LEED Accreditation. LEED is the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design programme, which is globally effective in producing more sustainable and efficient buildings.
We implement sustainable design on all project work, including water management, SUDS design, appropriate insulative qualities, low energy usage design, low water usage design and a reusable and recyclable programme where practical. Meehan Associates are market leaders in this regard. We will bring all relevant issues to the project and only implement strategies if they are economically viable.
